Implementation of Innovation in Healthcare

The “Implementation of Innovation in Healthcare” competition was addressed to a broad audience: doctors and medical staff, facility management, administrative personnel, IT professionals, and new technology experts.

It was open to both those who implemented their innovative ideas in single facilities and those whose solutions already operate on a larger scale.

Competition goal: To promote new solutions and best practices by awarding clinics and hospitals that have developed effective methods for implementing innovation, and to recognize leaders whose implementation, educational, and public activities widely support and promote innovation.

Evaluation Criteria

  • Innovation of the solution
  • Effectiveness of implementation – is the innovation used daily, and at what scale
  • Were the benefits of the innovation measured from the perspective of doctors/medical staff, patients, and the facility
  • What was the role of doctors in the implementation
  • Implementation potential in other facilities, systems, or countries
  • For the Innovator category: educational activity supporting innovation (lectures, training, publications, etc.)
  • For the Innovator category: public engagement supporting innovation (e.g., in scientific societies, associations, unions, etc.)

iWound is a telemedicine solution that enables remote patient contact with specialists in monitoring and treating postoperative and chronic wounds. The hospital-developed app offers consultations, document sharing, surveys, treatment recommendations, and billing – all in one secure place. It includes a prehabilitation module for physical and psychological preparation for surgery, with access to dietitians, physiotherapists, psychologists, nurses, and doctors.

System Software for Coordinated Care Management – CenterMed Sp. z o.o. in Tarnów

The software improves coordinated care delivery, enables faster and more efficient patient data management, and better team communication. It raises care quality, increases patient satisfaction, and enhances financial process efficiency. The tool integrates with office systems and includes five modules: IPOMy (care plan management), Test Billing, Patient Database, Controlling, and Statistics.

Innovation: Mbiotix HBI Caps – oral intestinal microbiota

A safe alternative to fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) via colonoscopy or gastroscopy. This non-invasive method is crucial for patients unable to undergo those procedures. Mbiotix HBI Caps is the first capsule-based FMT product in Poland, with high bacterial viability, demonstrating 90% effectiveness in treating recurrent Clostridioides difficile infections.

In this year’s competition, we invite the NIL IN Community to vote in the first stage.

People who are members of the community or join it by September 11, 2024, will be able to participate in the vote. People outside the NIL IN community will not be able to participate. The 10 highest-scoring entries in each category will advance to the second stage of the evaluation process – by the Competition Jury.
